Design your future at Hatch

Hatch is an international employee-owned company headquartered in Mississauga (a suburb of Toronto) that prides itself on providing a friendly work culture with attractive benefits, opportunities for career development, international travel, and a multicultural environment. Our company currently has more than $50 billion of capital projects under management and has been the recipient of numerous “Awards of Excellence” as well as being honoured as one of “Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies” in 2007.

Our manifesto

We are an innovative organisation committed to helping our clients achieve unprecedented and sustained business results. Our clients appreciate our added value, trust and communications, as well as our ability to transfer our expertise quickly and efficiently on a global basis.

In addition to our commitment to clients, we also pledge the following to our employees:

  • Provide a healthy and safe workplace environment
  • Create an organisation that allows each person to make a difference
  • Give every opportunity to expand knowledge and build a successful career with Hatch.

Hatch in our communities

We live and work in a larger community. As individuals and as a company, we support our local communities and professional societies through:

  • Education in the form of scholarships, bursaries and awards at the post-secondary level for undergraduates and graduates in science and engineering faculties
  • Client-supported charities
  • Employee initiatives that foster employee participation.

As a global company, we have also made international disaster relief a priority. Our contribution is to identify specific opportunities for Hatch to have a direct influence on assisting the people who were affected.

Respecting our environment and resources

For more than 50 years Hatch has been a world leader in the design and upgrade of major industrial facilities that respect the environment and optimise the use of our precious resources of water, energy and operating commodities.

In this past year the company created a global Environment and Social Risk group that brings together practices in sustainable development design, environmental assessment and management, social risk, and climate change. The group, whose goal is to help clients manage their corporate and project risk, is known as the Environment & Community Interface (E&CI) practice group.

All E&CI projects focus on climate change and greenhouse gas issues: through life cycle analysis to support project planning, implementation of greenhouse gas capture and sequestration technologies, and greenhouse gas abatement planning for client facilities.

Technologies

Hatch provides specialised know-how and patented technologies to enable our clients’ facilities to be safer, more environmentally friendly, and more competitive in terms of minimum capital and operating costs per unit of throughput. When Hatch technology transfer is combined with Hatch EPCM services for the overall facility, the enhanced co-ordination enables us to provide installations optimized for aggressive schedules, quicker ramp-up to design-throughput level, and better operability and maintainability.
