Shaping the Future by division
Natural Resources
AMEC’s Natural Resources division comprise engineering and project management activities in oil and gas, mining and metals and oil sands industry sectors. Our centres of excellence in these industries are located in the UK, Canada, USA, Peru, Chile, Australia, China, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Kuwait. We work for some of the biggest energy and mining clients in the world including BP, Chevron, BHP Billiton, Teck, De Beers, ExxonMobil and Shell.
AMEC Natural Resources is a market leader and has contributed to many firsts in history, from helping build the world’s first oil sands plant in 1967 to leading Canada’s first open pit and underground diamond mines to building the Hibernia, the world’s largest off shore oil and gas platform.
Power and Process
AMEC Power and Process division focuses on engineering and project management services in the generation of electricity from fossil fuels, renewable sources like wind and hydro, high and low voltage electricity infrastructure, transmission and distribution, together with gas processing and transmission, pulp and paper, petrochemicals, cement and the biofuels sector.
In addition, AMEC also leads in the nuclear sector supplying project management and engineering in reactor support, clean up and new build and facility restarts. AMEC’s centres of power and process excellence are located in the United Kingdom, Canada and USA and Chile.
Earth and Environmental
AMEC’s Earth and Environmental division provides specialist environmental, geotechnical, programme management and consultancy services to a broad range of clients in the public and private sectors. Earth and Environmental centres of excellence are located across North and South America, as well as Europe and the Middle East with prominent clients including the US National Guard, Syncrude, Suncor, GE, and the Canadian Department of National Defence.
Among specialist environmental services, AMEC is the leading provider in the USA of flood-hazard identification and mapping, multi-hazard mitigation, and post disaster recovery services to state and local governments and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
