Vancouver named world’s best city

If you want to live in the world’s most liveable city, head to Canada and settle down in Vancouver. The city managed to maintain its first place ranking on the Economist Intelligence Unit’s annual survey as the best city to live in the world.

Vancouver scored 98% on a combination of healthcare, stability, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure, a score that exactly matched the one the city had gathered in the previous year.

"Vancouver scores well across all categories in the survey, and the forthcoming Winter Games contribute to a strong score in the cultural and sporting events category," commented Jon Copestake, editor of the report, in a statement.

Two other Canadian cities also placed in the top ten, with Toronto taking the fourth place in the overall ranking, followed by Calgary in fifth place.

The Economist Intelligence Unit’s annual survey ranks 140 cities on 30 different criteria.
