Melanie made the move from Wales
Welsh traveler Melanie made the move to Canada, after visiting as a teenager and never forgetting the country.
“In January 2007 I received an offer to move to Toronto,
Canada. I had been applying for jobs in Canada for the previous two years and finally it was my time to move. Ever since visiting Niagara Falls with my parents when I was 17, I knew I had to live in this beautiful country.
“After finishing school and studying to become an anaesthetist, it was time for my new start. I packed my things and arrived in Toronto ready to start my new job and my new life.
“Nearly three years later I couldn’t be happier. I have met my now fiancée Mark and we are getting married next July. We have bought our first home together and the people I work with couldn’t be nicer.
“Of course I miss my family back in the UK, but we visit each other yearly and having Mark’s family around me helps a lot with the homesickness. I have made many new friends and Canada has so much to offer.
“I have never enjoyed snowboarding this much and the restaurants in Toronto are fabulous! Canada is my home now, and I recommend to anyone who is thinking about moving here to give it a go.”
