Medical Radiation Technologist

Location: Alberta, Calgary

The position is responsible for providing and performing the highest quality service possible to the clients of Diagnostic Imaging Services. This is done in an effective, efficient and safe manner. As a member of the Diagnostic Imaging team, this is a multisite, float position and the incumbent is responsible for working all shifts and on-call, as assigned. These positions will be scheduled to work at various sites; ACH, FMC, RGH, PLC, RRDTC, HCC and other urban community Calgary Health Region initiatives as they are developed. Some site-to-site travel may be required with some potential for short-notice scheduling. Reimbursement is according to the collective agreement.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful completion of registry exam.
- Member in good standing and current registration/eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) (Previously AAMRT).
- Flexibility with shift scheduling required.
- Adaptability to multiple sites required.
- Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and promote good teamwork.
- Perception, initiative, good judgement and concern for detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations.
- Ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, staff and physicians.
- Practices effective radiation protection, infection control and safety techniques as applicable.
- Basic computer skills are an asset.
- BCLS certification.
- IV certification, as required.
