Occupations in demand

Applications for migration to Canada as a skilled worker are assessed on a point basis, taking into consideration such things as the education, work history, and language skills. Having a suitable skill listed on the NOC (National Occupational Classification List) will increase total points and thus eligibility for entrance.

The skills that are required for applying under the Skilled Worker Class must fall into the categories of Skill Type O, or Skill Level A or B as listed in the NOC. Those categories are listed below:

There are specific definitions to which one must adhere in determining job descriptions, and certain criteria must be met in order to claim the job description. The passing score for this assessment is 67, but it is only a factor in the final decision. An applicant scoring over 67 can be turned down, just as someone who scores under 67 might possibly be admitted.
