SOUTHLAND Transportation Ltd primarily provides school bus transportation services for over 20 school boards serving both urban and rural communities within Alberta: Calgary, Edmonton, Cochrane, Okotoks, Canmore, Brooks, Drumheller, Rockyford and Strathmore. In addition to school transportation, SOUTHLAND operates commuter coaches between the major urban city of Calgary and the smaller towns of Cochrane and Okotoks.
Over the past 37 years, SOUTHLAND has acquired an impressive track record both as an industry leader, and a caring and safety minded service provider for its customers.
SOUTHLAND’s Clients
• School Bus Services: SOUTHLAND provides tailored school bus services for the 20 school boards we serve throughout the province of Alberta.
• Commuter highway coaches provide scheduled service, Monday through Friday only, between rural centres of Cochrane and Okotoks. These towns are approximately 35km outside the Calgary city limits.
• Charter Services offer both school bus and highway coaches for special events, social clubs, corporate industrial shuttles, around the province. Contracted for many international events.
A Career in Maintenance with SOUTHLAND
SOUTHLAND employs over 1000 professionally trained school bus, charter and commuter drivers (part-time and full time). The driving team is supported by 40 mechanics and maintenance support personnel who service and maintain the existing fleet of 900 units.
Each mechanic has his own workstation and is responsible for using and adding to his professional tool kit as required. SOUTHLAND shops work primarily day shifts.
